“Getting to know you” – new PREDICT member Katie Rasmussen

To ensure PREDICT members are aware of new members and where they are located, we will be featuring our new segment “Getting to know you” in our monthly newsletter.

This month we introduce Katie Rasmussen from Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, Brisbane.

“I am a Paediatric Emergency Physician working at Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, Brisbane.

This tertiary emergency department has over 65000 presentations per year and acts as the central referral point for paediatric multi-trauma services in Queensland. Since opening in 2014 the department has had an enthusiastic commitment to clinical research, with currently over 20 active research projects including collaborations across the hospital, with affiliated universities and the wider paediatric emergency community.

I am currently involved in research projects on clinical decision rules in paediatric cervical spine imaging and the use of Trans-nasal Humidified Rapid-Insufflation Ventilatory Exchange (THRIVE) in paediatric emergency intubation.”
