ED Clinicians – help us find parents for study reference group

The Bronchiolitis season is upon us!

Doctors and Nurses in regional and rural areas, can you help us to find parents of infants who have been treated for bronchiolitis in the ED?

What for? A Parent Advisory Group

In relation to what? The Regional and Rural Translation Bronchiolitis Study, (RART-Bronch). This MRFF funded research is based at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, at Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne and endorsed by PREDICT. https://www.predict.org.au/projects/rart-bronch/

What’s it about?
This study aims to improve the hospital care of babies (<12 months) with bronchiolitis, in regional and rural hospitals.  It will do this by supporting doctors, nurses to give the right care and providing relevant information for families.  This research will involve nearly 30-40 hospitals across all states of Australia.

What’s the parent criteria?

  • Parent/ Carer resides in regional or rural Australia
  • Has presented to ED (locally) with an infant <12 months for bronchiolitis
  • Presented to ED in the past 18 months

What will they be asked to do?

  • Provide advice to the research team on topics relevant to families
  • Help us produce useful information for families about bronchiolitis
  • Help us communicate our research and study findings to families
  • All meetings will be online and they will be paid $50 per hour.

Found someone – what to do…..
