Knowledge Translation Bronchiolitis Study

Knowledge Translation in Australasian Paediatric Acute Care Settings: a multi-centred, cluster, randomised controlled trial comparing a tailored, theory informed Knowledge Translation intervention versus passive dissemination of a bronchiolitis guideline.


  • 20 Australian sites
  • 6 New Zealand sites
  • Randomised to control and intervention

Current status:

  • Intervention phase completed November 2017
  • Effectiveness data collection underway with aim for completion very soon
  • 9100 audits completed currently – 78% of total required
  • Post site visits almost completed
  • Protocol paper submitted to BMC Pediatrics

Moving forward:

  • Statistical analysis plan being fine-tuned
  • Control sites training day – 12 November 2018 (Melbourne)
  • Analysis completed by end of December
  • Outcome paper to be completed mid 2019
